Did you know? Music students out-perform non-music students on achievement tests in reading and math. Skills such as reading, anticipating, memory, listening, forecasting, recall, and concentration are developed in musical performance, and these skills are valuable to students in math, reading, and science.
- B. Friedman, “An Evaluation of the Achievement in Reading and Arithmetic of Pupils in Elementary School Instrumental Music Classes,” Dissertation Abstracts International.

The Mayron Cole Method

With the Mayron Cole Piano method, your child will learn keyboard geography, rhythm notation and staff notation using fun and engaging activities and games.  This methoddoes not use any tricks or shortcuts (like playing by finger number) and teaches children to be confident musicians, able to play along in duets, ensembles, and any school music program with ease and confidence.  To learn more about the Mayron Cole method, watch this short video

Taking Lessons on Zoom

I have been teaching using Zoom for the past year with surprising results!   Because unlike Zoom school, one-on-one Zoom piano lessons are a fun and engaging.  Children look forward to seeing me on their computer each week to make music, tell jokes, play games and smile & laugh together.  Almost every student that started on Zoom piano with me last year is still happily taking lessons this way and they are progressing beautifully.

In order to enroll your child, the following items must be in place:

  • A piano or keyboard in the home

  • A laptop and a phone or tablet

  • A parent to help with daily practice

  • A practice schedule of at least 10 minutes per day
