Meet the Teacher
Miss Melissa Ayotte has been a popular Early Childhood Music and piano teacher in Marin County for over 20 years. She currently lives on Hamilton in Novato with her husband and two children. Melissa began studying piano with Antonia Cippolina in Mill Valley in the early 1970's at the age of 5. She studied privately for over 12 years and continued her music education at College of Marin with Paul Smith. Melissa has played and performed professionally at local restaurants, theater companies and churches, and plays regularly (along with her flautist son) at Our Lady of Loretto church in Novato.
Miss Melissa offers Musikgarten classes for babies, toddlers and preschoolers on Monday and Thursday mornings at Miwok Park in Novato.
"Making music, in a joyful and purposeful way, provides a self recognition in children that help them to enjoy the act of learning." Those words from Dr. Lorna Heyge, the founder of Musikgarten, establish the basis for our children's music programs.
For parents, the Musikgarten program allows participation in a fun, energetic environment while instilling a love and understanding of music in their child that also teaches life lessons including how to listen, get along with others, and perform well in school.
Unlike Zoom school, online piano lessons meet once a week, giving your child something to look forward to (yes, students look forward to their lessons!) each week. Enrollment includes The Better Practice App, music Boom Cards and access to Miss Melissa's YouTube library of over 100 piano lesson tutorials.
Surprising to many parents, online Zoom piano lessons are MORE inspiring, MORE fun and MORE educational than when their child came to the studio for lessons.
